"God writes straight with crooked lines"
Crooked Lines is a southwest-based production company and outlet of all things creative for filmmaker Kyran Kinlan. Whether it be graphic design, company branding or his more predominate focus on award-winning short-form films, all of it is unified under the singular vision of Crooked Lines.
Much of Kyran's work with Crooked Lines is inspired by his home of the Jurassic coast - musing over his relationship and connection with its heritage. He is intrigued by approaching identity through the relationship between nature and people. The extent to which our homeland shapes us and the potency of memories that are anchored in a time and place; kinds of nostalgia.
Kyran likes to approach these concepts through more experimental and haptic means, exploring why innovating traditional mediums helps harness the more elusive of human emotions - whether it be animation, mixed media, etc. God's Crooked Lines means a mantra of embracing the chaotic side of creativity, a belief that the most potent art will always grow from places of uncertainty.
