"God writes straight with crooked lines"
Crooked Lines is a southwest-based creative studio and production house founded by filmmaker and multi-disciplinary artist Kyran Kinlan. Working across independent film, advertising, music videos, branding, photography, and social-first content, Crooked Lines blends professional craft with a distinctly human approach to storytelling.

We are always reminded that neither life nor creativity follows a straight path. What stays with us are the twists, turns, and imperfections - the things that shape character, create meaning, and make us feel. That philosophy guides our work in an age of polished surfaces and endless digital replication: we embrace flaws, chance, and unpredictability not as mistakes, but as the very qualities that give art its soul.

At its heart, Crooked Lines is an organic studio. We turn to the imperfect and the handmade, drawing on analog processes, tactile materials, and experimental techniques. Our projects lean into the raw, the accidental, and the emotional. Never manufactured; they emerge naturally from the process - and it’s in those crooked lines that true emotion lives.

Much of Kyran’s work is inspired by the landscapes of the Jurassic Coast, reflecting on memory, identity, and the relationship between people and place. Nostalgia and heritage thread through his films and design projects, expressed through experimental methods - from mixed media and haptic storytelling to analog film and design techniques.

The name Crooked Lines is both a mantra and a method: embracing chaos, trusting process, and following the unpredictable path where creativity actually happens.
