Chippel Bay is the upcoming grad short from director and writer Kyran Kinlan.
The story follows two estranged brothers, Otis and Edward, marooned on an ethereal vision of their childhood beach. To get home, they must try and unravel the distance that's now grown between them; but will their already strained relationship survive a grave revelation being held by one brother from the other? Centrally, the narrative is an exploration of the complexities of how we communicate, especially the thoughts we don't want to say out loud; what we choose to say when we are trying to avoid what is actually true.
After a successful test screening at the University of Bristol Graduate Film Festival Chippel Bay is currently undergoing a second edit and sound dubbing, aiming to release in late 2024.
